Golf enthusiasts, get ready! The highly anticipated 30th Annual Terra Cotta Invitational is just around the corner. Scheduled to take place from April 16-18, 2026, at the beautiful Naples National Golf Club, this event promises to showcase some of the best amateur golf talent the world has to offer. Recognized as one of the top non-collegiate amateur tournaments in the country, this invitation-only event is already creating quite a buzz!
An Elite Field of Amateur Talent
This year’s tournament will feature a striking lineup of 72 top-tier amateur golfers. Among them are 24 of the esteemed Rolex Junior All-Americans, 60 players listed in the critically acclaimed World Amateur Golf Ranking, and seven dedicated members of the U.S. National Junior Team. It’s safe to say, if you’re looking for golf at its finest, this event is where you want to be! The Terra Cotta Invitational ranks an impressive 10th in the nation among amateur non-collegiate events, ensuring an exhilarating showcase of golf skills that spans the globe.
Among the standout competitors is Luke Colton, the reigning champion for the last two years, who will be pursuing an extraordinary third consecutive win. Competing alongside him will be the remarkable Mason Howell, the current U.S. Amateur champion, as well as Miles Russell, the top-ranked junior amateur. Local talents are not to be overlooked either, with five-time Naples National club champion Brian Bassett and U.S. Amateur runner-up Noah Kent joining the ranks!
Tournament Structure and Charitable Mission
The tournament will follow a classic 54-hole stroke play format with 18 holes played each day, from Thursday to Saturday. What’s exciting is that there’s no cut, which means all of the invited golfers will have the opportunity to showcase their skills across the full tournament. Each day will commence at 7:30 a.m., with players teeing off in threesomes from both the 1st and 10th tees. Competitors will adhere to the guidelines of the United States Golf Association, playing on the challenging par-72 layout at Naples National Golf Club. As an added bonus, the champion will receive invitations to both the Northeast Amateur Invitational and the Dogwood Invitational!
The Terra Cotta Invitational is not just about golf; it’s also a force for good in the community. Managed by Terra Cotta Charities Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, the tournament has raised over $1,100,000 since its inception in 1996. The funds generated, primarily through club members and sponsors, go directly to benefit local children’s charities like the YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs, Pace Center for Girls, and the KidzAct Fund at The Naples Players.
Evolution of the Terra Cotta Invitational
Founded in 1996 at Naples National Golf Club, the event initially featured a match-play format for only 20 players. In 2006, the format smoothly transitioned to the current 54-hole stroke play, expanding the field to 50 players and later to the now standard 72. Over the years, the tournament has seen an impressive lineup of golfers who became professionals, including major champions and well-known PGA Tour players like Justin Thomas, Matt Kuchar, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, and Scottie Scheffler.
Event Details for Participants
For those interested in participating, the entry fee is set at $325.00. This fee covers an exciting sponsor/contestant dinner, as well as breakfast and lunch from Thursday through Saturday. A little note—caddies are required for all players, and participants must either bring their own or have one assigned by the committee. Oh, and leave those push carts at home!
