TAMPA, Fla. — Voters in Tampa and the rest of Hillsborough County get two full weeks to cast a ballot in person before Election Day, with early voting for the 2026 general election opening Monday, Oct. 19.
Early sites will be open every day, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., running until Sunday, Nov. 1. During that stretch a registered county voter can use any of the 27 early voting locations, no matter where they live. That flexibility ends on Election Day, when each voter has to go to the precinct tied to a home address.
Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer said he keeps early voting open for the most days and hours state law allows in general elections, which this year covers two weekends.
One familiar site is off the list. The SouthShore Regional Library is closed for renovations, so the office added a new spot in Ruskin, the SouthShore Community Resource Center, which sits at 201 14th Ave. SE. The Southshore Regional Service Center also remains an option for voters in that part of the county.
Voters need photo and signature identification to check in, and a Florida driver license works. Each early site also has a secure intake station indoors where mail ballots can be dropped off during voting hours.
Anyone who still wants a mail ballot has to ask for one before 5 p.m. on Oct. 22, either online or by calling the elections office at 813-612-4180. The full list of 27 sites is posted on the county elections website.
With two weekends included in the window, voters who work weekday shifts have several Saturday and Sunday chances to vote before the crowds that usually build on Election Day, which falls on Nov. 3.
