Largo, Florida — A tragic car accident on May 10, 2025, has resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two young children. The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Orangeview Drive and Ridge Road, near Tampa, when a Dodge Durango, driven by 20-year-old Adarius Hayes, collided with a Kia Soul making a left turn.

Three occupants of the Kia Soul were killed in the crash: 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon, 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Rivera, who died at the scene, and 78-year-old Gail Price, who succumbed to her injuries a day later on May 11. Another passenger, 58-year-old Herbert Rivera, sustained serious injuries and has been hospitalized.

The police report from the Largo Police Department indicates there were no signs of impairment in either driver, and alcohol is not believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash. The accident has prompted an investigation into whether speed played a role, as the Traffic Homicide Unit continues to gather details surrounding the incident.

Adarius Hayes was also hospitalized following the crash but has since been released. A linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes football team, Hayes had participated in 12 games during his freshman year and was a well-regarded athlete coming out of Largo High School. The University of Miami Athletics Department released a statement expressing condolences for the fatalities and emphasizing the profound loss felt in the community.
