Tampa, Florida – The No More Foundation is set to launch Harbor House, a dedicated safe space for women who have survived human trafficking, with plans for opening in early June 2025. This initiative, co-founded by Jaime and Tami Kent, aims to provide immediate support and resources for survivors as they transition to long-term housing options.

Harbor House will serve as the first point of contact for women escaping traumatic experiences related to trafficking. The facility will enable initial assessments to be conducted, ensuring that survivors receive appropriate care tailored to their individual needs. This provides a secure and nurturing environment essential for their recovery journey.

Community involvement has played a significant role in the development of Harbor House. Matt Boden, the owner of Fresh Coat Painters of North Tampa, has generously contributed pro bono exterior painting services to enhance the home’s atmosphere. His connection with The No More Foundation was facilitated through a mutual acquaintance, and his personal motivations also stem from familial experiences related to abuse, making this project particularly meaningful for him.

Boden’s contribution is intended to create a welcoming environment for the women who will call Harbor House home. The symbolic act of painting is seen as a way to convey dignity and care, reinforcing the messages of support and hope for those in vulnerable situations. Tami Kent has highlighted the crucial role that community support plays in establishing a safe and healing space for survivors.

The inspiration behind The No More Foundation arises from Jaime Kent’s experiences of witnessing his sister’s abuse, which fueled his passion for activism against human trafficking. For over a decade, the organization has been committed to assisting survivors and raising awareness about this critical issue that continues to impact many lives across the nation.

Harbor House is a crucial addition to the growing network of resources available for survivors. The significance of such safe spaces cannot be overstated, given that human trafficking is an ongoing concern in society. Programs designed to aid recovery and help survivors rebuild their lives are essential to combatting this pervasive issue.

In conjunction with the opening of Harbor House, several philanthropic efforts are also underway in the Tampa Bay area. Calvary Church is scheduled to launch Calvary Christian College this September, expanding educational opportunities in the community. Additionally, the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany have made a generous donation of $1 million toward the construction of a chapel at the upcoming Pagidipati Children’s Hospital at St. Joseph’s.

In a show of community solidarity, Fifth Third Bank employees have partnered with Feeding Tampa Bay to pack over 12,000 meals for local families in need. Coca-Cola Beverages Florida is taking proactive steps in housing solutions as the first home sponsor for Habitat for Humanity in Hernando County. Moreover, the University of South Florida recently received a $3 million estate gift from alumnus Mike Crew designated for the College of Engineering.

Power Design also contributed to community welfare by raising over $60,000 for local charities during their annual Pirates & Pitmasters event. Furthermore, the Community Foundation Tampa Bay has committed to $1 billion in philanthropic funding as part of their 35th-anniversary celebrations, reflecting the region’s dedication to social responsibility and improvement.

Vik and Sneha Patel have made a significant contribution to pediatric care by donating $3 million to support the development of a Healing Garden at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Initiatives such as these highlight the collaborative efforts within the Tampa Bay community to uplift the lives of those affected by various adversities.

As the launch of Harbor House approaches, it marks a notable step forward in the fight against human trafficking and reaffirms the commitment of the Tampa Bay community to support survivors and those in need.
