Tampa Bay, Florida — Meyer Jabara Hotels has announced its entry into the Tampa Bay market by taking over the management of the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Northwest/Oldsmar, a notable milestone for the company. The hotel, situated at 4052 Tampa Rd, features 87 guest rooms and is conveniently located just 13 miles from Tampa International Airport. Additionally, it is within a short five-minute drive to popular local attractions such as Tampa Bay, the Oldsmar Historical Society Museum, and the Oldsmar Flea Market.
Chas Henry, Senior Vice President of Business Development and Acquisitions for Meyer Jabara Hotels, indicated that this is the company’s initial move into the Tampa area but emphasized plans for future growth in the region, particularly focusing on Florida and the Southeast.
The recently acquired Hilton Garden Inn offers guests various amenities including an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness center, multiple dining and beverage options, and spaces for conferences and meetings. Additional features include a business center and complimentary Wi-Fi, along with cooked-to-order breakfasts and a daily breakfast buffet to enhance the guest experience.
The property was purchased by Rogatien Krecek 1.5 years ago, who decided to partner with Meyer Jabara due to the company’s family-oriented philosophy and commitment to brand support within the Hilton system. Following the management transition, Krecek reported rapid improvements in employee morale and operational efficiency, with notable reductions in accounts receivable and improvements in occupancy rates and Average Daily Rate (ADR) within just weeks after the takeover.
The hotel has recently undergone a significant renovation targeting both guest rooms and public areas, further enhancing its appeal to visitors. Meyer Jabara Hotels is keen to capitalize on Tampa’s strong post-COVID recovery, recognizing the area as one of the top-performing markets in the United States, renowned for its beautiful beaches, consistent sunny weather, and lively downtown scene.
Headquartered in Danbury, Connecticut, Meyer Jabara Hotels boasts a portfolio of 45 properties and 36 food-and-beverage outlets across 20 states. Established in 1977 by William Meyer and Richard Jabara, the company is currently led by President Justin Jabara. Its diverse hotel offerings span various brands including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, Choice, and Wyndham, along with several independent hotels.
Meyer Jabara remains focused on fostering success not only for itself but for all stakeholders involved, including business partners, employees, and guests. The expansion into Tampa marks a strategic move for the company as it looks to enhance its upscale footprint in a region that is quickly recovering and thriving in the post-pandemic landscape.
