Ruskin Witnesses Disturbing Kidnapping Incident Involving 21-Year-Old

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Julian Jaramillo, a 21-year-old man, following his alleged involvement in a kidnapping case that took place in Ruskin on May 27, 2025. Law enforcement authorities responded to reports of a possible kidnapping around 3:22 a.m. at a residence located on the 1900 block of 33rd Street Southeast.

According to official reports, Jaramillo utilized a tracking device he had secretly placed in his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle to monitor her whereabouts. When the victim exited the residence, Jaramillo confronted her, forcibly took her vehicle keys, and compelled her into the trunk of her own car. He then drove her to his residence in Palmetto, Florida, where he allegedly held her against her will.

Shortly after the kidnapping took place, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office was informed of the incident. Jaramillo was apprehended while attempting to leave his neighborhood, with the victim still in her vehicle. Fortunately, the victim sustained only minor injuries during this harrowing experience.

Multiple Charges Filed

After being taken into custody, Jaramillo was charged with multiple offenses, including carjacking, kidnapping, domestic violence battery, and unlawful installation of a tracking device. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Manatee County Jail, where he is currently awaiting extradition back to Hillsborough County.

Authorities stress that domestic violence cases involving kidnapping pose significant risks to victims and law enforcement. The investigating agency is committed to ensuring the safety of domestic violence victims and holding offenders accountable for their actions. Sheriff Chad Chronister underscored the seriousness of such criminal activity, highlighting that they are among the most dangerous situations encountered by law enforcement.
