Tampa, Florida – A domestic violence incident escalated to attempted murder charges for a 20-year-old woman after she assaulted her boyfriend with a pickup truck on Sunday afternoon. The altercation, initially perceived as a case of road rage, left Christopher Ewing hospitalized and has resulted in multiple charges against Armani Bellamy.

Bellamy has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, grand theft of a motor vehicle, and criminal mischief. Following the incident, a judge ordered her to be held without bond, citing her violent actions and the threat she poses to both Ewing and the community.

According to reports, the couple had been together for a year, during which time they were involved in a prior domestic violence incident that led to Ewing’s arrest. After Ewing was released on bond in that case, no restrictions were placed on his return to their shared residence.

On the day of the incident, an argument erupted between Ewing and Bellamy, prompting Ewing to leave their home in his gray Dodge Challenger. Witnesses reported seeing Bellamy throw rocks and bricks at his vehicle as he drove away. In an aggressive turn of events, she took the keys to Ewing’s work truck, a Ford F-250, and pursued him.

The situation escalated further when Bellamy struck another vehicle during the pursuit. Ewing, fearing for his life, called 911 to report the incident and provided his location to the operator. Unfortunately, Ewing’s vehicle ran out of gas on an exit ramp from I-75 to Morris Bridge Road.

While on the ramp, Bellamy rammed into Ewing’s vehicle with the F-250, completely disabling it. Multiple witnesses reported seeing Bellamy circle around and ram the Challenger for a second time. After her initial strike, Ewing fled into a tree line to escape. It was then that Bellamy allegedly ran him over with the right front side of the truck.

Witnesses and bystanders took immediate action, restraining Bellamy at the scene until law enforcement arrived. She was taken into custody following the incident, with the prosecution arguing that her violent actions required stringent consequences.

Judge J. Logan Murphy presided over Bellamy’s court appearance, noting her status as a former foster child with a minor past criminal history. The prosecution emphasized the need for serious charges due to the severity of the assault and the potential threat of continued violence.

In summary, the charges against Bellamy reflect the seriousness of the incident. With the judge’s ruling, she will remain in the Hillsborough County Jail until her trial, facing significant legal repercussions for her actions.

The incident highlights the ongoing issues of domestic violence and the escalation that can occur in such relationships. Support services and intervention programs continue to be essential in addressing these challenges and preventing further incidents.
